ASB vs Parent Club
What’s different between ASB and Parent Club in middle school?
The Associated Student Body (ASB) leads the charge on the majority of school events. The Parent Club steps away from planning special events, so students can start to learn to be leaders. Dances, Food Drive, Koins for Kids, assemblies and other special events—the fun social stuff—is planned by ASB and funded by the Viking Run in October.
Parent Club is left to do clean up, the less glamorous stuff!
Student Excellence Rewards (Volunteers served pizza, popcorn and handed out reward cards.)
Staff Appreciation programs (Volunteers planned and served staff lunch in December, March & May)
Department Special Requests (Staff requested classroom supplies, books, artwork and more).
If you are interested in helping out, we have many different ways! There are a wide variety of small events that volunteers are needed for and that leaves many additional ways to be involved. Email us at parentclubmms@gmail.com with your contact information and information about your student to be added to the list to be notified when volunteers are needed.
The Parent Club needs to continue to raise some money to help staff with supplies that can't be met by the tight school budget. If you are interested in participating in The Parent Club through a direct donation, please send a check made out to MMS Parent Club to Meadowdale Middle School, 6500 168th Street SW, Lynnwood, WA 98037 Attn: MMS Parent Club Treasurer.
